The simple answer is your hearing aid is designed and prescribed to be worn all day throughout your normal activities. Activities like talking in a restaurant, meeting with friends, and playing with your kids are important events which require hearing the communications involved.
Life at home requires this capability as well with the hearing of the high frequency sounds of the doorbell. Understanding programs on the television is increased and the neighbors will be happy that the volume bar has gone down.
There are times however when you should not wear your hearing aid. Moisture of any kind spells trouble for hearing aids. Therefore they should not be worn inside of the shower or while swimming. While sleeping the hearing aid should be removed and the battery door moved to the open position in order to allow any moisture to dissipate from the electronics inside.
