Dr. Garr Crookston started Hearing Zone in Pocatello Idaho in 1978. Over the years a model of putting patients first has grown Hearing Zone to span 3 States. Dr. Garr Crookston and Dr. Ray Crookston continue this service in the Bay Area.

Dr. Ray Crookston is a second-generation audiologist and has been practicing for over 10 years in the Bay Area, California. He attended Utah State University completing his undergraduate work and was one of the first in the country to graduate with the Doctors of Audiology degree. He received his doctorate at Central Michigan University and completed his residency at a private practice in Walnut Creek, California. Dr. Crookston is dedicated to his patient’s needs and goals specializing in hearing aid technologies while working in private practice in our Oakland and Alameda locations. Dr. Crookston is passionate about the sense of hearing and helping his patients hear again. He has spent time in Ghana and Dominican Republic working with children with severe hearing impairments and is developing a program to promote awareness of hearing loss and protection among individuals of all ages. He has a love for music and works with musicians and performers of different genres in the Bay Area.
